Sports & Home Eye Safety Month

September 3rd, 2010

Sports & Home First AidIt seemed like just a few years ago when my wife was putting Chlorine chemicals into her parents pool.  As she was setting down the gallon container the chemical splashed  into her eye.  It immediately began burning her eye.  We quickly began to irrigate her eye with water and after about 15 minutes of this we drove to the emergency clinic for treatment.  It happens that fast.

Whether you are playing a sport, working in the yard or at your workplace, eye injuries do occur.  September is recognized as Sports & Home Eye Safety Month by the National Safety Council.  We want to build awareness of this topic and encourage you to take a moment to look over these links.

Be prepared and wear the appropriate safety glasses, goggles or shields for the potential hazard you may encounter.  You only have two eyes.  Eye injuries can be prevented.
